The Minecraft RTX Beta for Minecraft Windows 10 Edition has been released and it’s awesome!
We have tested out the new Minecraft with RTX beta and made some incredible beautiful comparison in-game screenshots.
RTX is the ray tracing technology found in the latest versions of the Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics card. For this article, we tested Minecraft RTX with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.
Ray tracing is a rendering technique for generating graphics. It works by tracing the path of light as pixels and simulate the effects of its encounters with virtual objects
Minecraft Ray Tracing – HQ Comparison Images
While the images here, does not do justice to being in the game itself (images have been scaled down and quality reduced), you will still get the feel of how amazing it looks with DirectX RTX turned on.
With RTX off with the frame rate/FPS where around 2-300 most of the time. With RTX turned on, frame rates went down to around 100. Still very good FPS, considering the stress it puts on the graphic card. Compared to the Minecraft Ray Tracing mods, that tries to mimic true ray tracing, 100 FPS is very good.
How to enable ray tracing in Minecraft
If you want to try out Minecraft RTX and enable ray tracing in Minecraft, Nvidia has made a blog post about how to enable ray tracing.
What do you think, will you test out the new Minecraft RTX beta with ray tracing (given you own an RTX card)?
